Shipping Terms & Conditions

It’s a one-woman operation here at Hauwana, with a baby in tow. I truly appreciate your patience as I work to get your goodies to you as quickly as possible while juggling the magic of motherhood. Thank you so much for your understanding.

 

All orders will be processed within 5 business days after receipt of payment.

 

Delivery times may vary depending on the courier service and destination. Standard courier delivery typically takes 1-2 business days for urban areas and 2-3 business days for rural addresses.

1. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight, size, and destination of your order. You can view the shipping costs at checkout before confirming your order. Note – Hauwana reserves the right to decline a sale in the event of a system technical error where no shipping fee, or an incorrect shipping fee has been added to the order.

 

2. Signature Required Delivery

For your protection and peace of mind, signature required delivery is available. This delivery option should take 1-2 business days to arrive. If no one is available to sign for your delivery, the courier may attempt redelivery or leave a notice for you to pick up your parcel from a nearby depot.

 

3. Express Delivery

This delivery option should take 1-2 business days to arrive. Please note – Drivers do not make phone calls to customers regarding locked gates/security buildings. If you select Courier delivery all orders are shipped with “Authority to Leave” in a place deemed safe at your address, and you agree to the following:

 

House deliveries

I have checked my delivery address is correct, and the address is not to a post office.

There are no locked gates and the courier has access to the front door. Note – If the driver is unable to gain access, your order will be taken to the nearest depot. No refund of the delivery fee will be given. In the event your order is re-delivered, the purchaser will need to pay the extra re-delivery fee.

I do not have a dog roaming the front yard (courier drivers may not enter a property if a dog is roaming the front yard, irrespective of how harmless the dog is).

 

Units & Apartments

I do not live in a security building and the courier has easy access to the unit door or can be left inside the foyer door. (If it’s a multi-level building items may be left inside the foyer, as some drivers do not walk up stairs.

Or – I do live in a security building but it’s safe to leave products outside the main entrance door.

 

Business Addresses

The business opening hours are standard 9am – 5pm Mon-Fri.

Or – I have left a note on the order form of our opening days and hours.

For all orders without a signature required, once a parcel has been delivered, neither Hauwana nor the courier company are liable for any loss or damage to the parcel.

 

3. Order Processing Time

All orders are processed within 5 business days after receipt of payment. Once processed, orders will be dispatched according to the selected shipping method. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next business day. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email to monitor the progress of your delivery.

 

4. Packaging and Handling

We take great care in packaging your order to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Since our oil is shipped in glass bottles, we ensure each bottle is carefully wrapped to prevent breakage during transit. We endeavour to only use recycled and eco-friendly packaging materials.

 

5. Delivery Delays

Once your order has been dispatched, you acknowledge that there may be delays to delivery that are out of our control, and indemnify Hauwana against compensation for delay. While we strive to ensure timely delivery, please note that delivery times are estimates only and can be affected by factors outside our control, such as weather conditions, courier delays, or public holidays. We are not responsible for delays caused by the courier or external factors, but we will work with the courier company to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

 

6. Incorrect or Incomplete Address

Please double-check your shipping address during checkout. We cannot be held responsible for delayed or lost orders due to incorrect or incomplete addresses. If you notice an error after placing your order, please contact us immediately at HauwanaNZ@gmail.com to update your details. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure the delivery address is entered correctly. Any re-direction of orders due to an incorrect address will incur additional fees, payable by the purchaser.

 

7. Rural Delivery

If a delivery is deemed rural, but the rural shipping has not been selected, the order will be delayed until full shipping payment has been received. Please note that, for courier services, this does not necessarily align with NZ post RD addresses. Alternatively, you can provide us with a non-rural delivery address, for example your work place. If you choose to enter a PO box delivery address, please also select the rural region for your area, as the surcharge to us for PO boxes is the same as for rural.

 

8. Lost or Damaged Items

If your item is lost in transit, please contact us immediately. We will work with the courier service to investigate and resolve the issue. If you have not received your order within 5 business days (allow 7 days if rural) please notify us so we can help you to track its whereabouts. Leaving it longer than 2 weeks means the courier may not be able to assist with tracking a missing order. While we take every precaution to package your order securely, in the event of damage during shipping, please email us within 7 days of receipt with photos of the damage. We will work with you to resolve the issue by either issuing a refund or sending a replacement item, depending on your preference and availability. However, for all orders delivered without a signature required, once a parcel has been delivered, neither Hauwana nor the courier company are liable for any loss or damage to the parcel.
